Geeking over groceries

Went for a mooch around Ikea with The Mother a couple of days ago, and as we happened to go in the evening, a delicious dins of meatballs was inevitable...
Omnom.

After a bit of a browse (and purchasing a few bits we never knew we wanted needed!), we went to the little bit at the end where you can buy all the Ikea food for funsies at home, and I realised how amazing the packaging design of everything is!

Love that the wine's called Glogg (Swedish for "Glug"?)

Sardines (they looked better in real life - turns out it was quite hard to get the contrasting silver just right in a hastily taken phone picture!)

Fish paste...

And Crab paste!

I was going to spend a little more time being a geek & taking pictures, but was starting to get funny looks from people just trying to buy groceries. Kill-joys.

Bloody love Ikea though <3

Job + Flat = The Dream.

Time's been going so quickly! I've now only got about a month left at my internship (this is my excuse for lack of blog-posts - all my blogging effort has gone into this blog.  Check it out, it's pretty jazzy.

But this means that I've got to start looking for a 'real' job now! Which is exciting & scary in equal parts...Well actually, I think that now I've had this experience in an office environment & know that I'm actually capable of doing the job, I'm more excited

Which is definitely a good thing! Because with a job comes a flat (hopefully)!
Therefore, it should come as no great surprise that I've spent many hours already looking at property porn.
Ranging from the 'I could never afford this in a million years, but isn't it beautiful'
 For the Super Rich only

*sigh*
But having said that, there are a few gems I've come across too, which aren't eye-wateringly pricey, which is nice to know. Only thing is, I don't know where I'm going to be working, or who I'm going to be living with (either The Boy or Sj) & where they'll want to live...Because I don't really have a preference at the moment, as long as I'm near a tube or train.
This is mainly because my hatred for busses can threaten to become consuming at times.
And another awesome side to moving out will be being able to decorate!!! Eeeee.
Hello Ikea!

As for the job hunt - well!
The websites I've been casually looking at include:
Artshub
Creative Review
Brand Republic
University of the Arts

I think I'm going to start applying to a few jobs listed soon (when I know my current leaving date, etc.), but a couple of friends have mentioned that it might be easier to sign up with a recruitment agency, so I might just do that too!

FIngers crossed :]

Recently...

Iiiya!

  So I was thinking today about the fact I haven't actually 'blogged' in ages (well - a week & a half, or so). Therefore, I thought it might be good to do a little "what I've been up to" post...

It's been hectic at work;

Thought I'd liven-up the glass bin...

Something a customer left on their table for us...

It's also been lovely weather the past couple of days, which has been funny when it comes to online networking - it would seem that everyone I know/follow has been either enjoying the sunshine, or wishing they could!
(well, a few anyways)

  The boy & I went shopping - long story short, he bought me shoes. Aka = the best thing ever! Lovelovelove them!

(picture from www.polyvore.com)

I did see some other really cute shoeboots from River Island:

 - I may have to go back for them sometime soon!

  We also had a swift trip to Ikea for meatballs. The boy had them with pasta & proclaimed them to be the best thing since sliced bread! (I tried some & can agree it is a pretty awesome meal!) I definitely recommend buying the meatballs & gravy in the food-shop-part & making it at home!
  What else did we do when we were there? Acted like children, of course;

& took pictures in the mirrored cupboards:

Apart from that, not a lot's been going on! The only annoying thing is that I keep thinking of things to blog about, but then forgetting before I get to a computer...This is partly why I have started to use my phone as a notebook!
It's a plan Stanley.

The first (& only relevant) note was to look up the Amelie Soundtrack on Spotify - I did & it was amazing! Check it out if you fancy it!

Oh, hi!

So, I guess the "about me" pretty much says the basics, so maybe a few details?
  I'm planning to move to London (south west) on March 31st - fingers crossed everything goes to plan! All I have to do is;
  • find someone to live in my room in Southampton (hopefully not a crazy).
  • Resign from my current job - I'm a barmaid at one of the local student pubs & love it - for the most part.
  • Find a new job!

  Although this is the exiting part, as I'm going to be looking /applying for a "real" job! This basically means not working in a shop/bar/etc, for minimum wage, but hopefully for something in the advertising/PR world!
  I actually can't wait. Eeeep!

The other thing I'm going to post about right now (partly to get to grips with this whole blogging-thing, so I'll keep it short), is a recent trip Dan & I took to Ikea - probably more fun than it sounds...

  So we set off for Ikea, which is over the other side of town, & Dan decided it would be funny to run away like a child...

We then took a slight detour to the Guildhall, where they have a fairly large model of the whole of Southampton which was pretty amazing! Of course, we had to find our house. Which, with the aid of Google Maps (only) took about 15 minutes...it was a big model!

  We then got back on track & headed to Ikea, where the best thing to do is to play house! I'm fairly sure everyone wants to when they go to somewhere like Ikea, secretly.

  After some house-play fun, we went for the 49p (I think. I know they were dirt cheap) hotdogs, which were yummy!

  Dan was a slight retard & got messy...

  After all the Ikea fun we went home, where Dan proceeded to find a stash of party poppers & came up with the genius idea of filling them with mayonnaise! Taking the string-y stuff out first, obviously;

I don't seem to have a picture of the end result, but it was pretty fun!

  So that's pretty much it for now, but I seem to be constantly thinking of/seeing things that I reckon would make for interesting blogging, so, as they say - watch this space!
